Not For Vegetarians

Here is a list of meats that are available in Chinese restaurants, and not always can be found on the menu in restaurants in other countries. I tried, I may add, all of them:

  • dog,
  • donkey, 
  • grasshopper, 
  • prawns fried live, 
  • prawns boiled live, 
  • silkworms, 
  • wasps, 
  • chicken feet, 
  • goose feet, 
  • pigeon, 
  • duck bills, 
  • locusts, 
  • fried chicken heads, necks, etc. once during a dinner in a chwar place we built a whole chicken from its 'component' parts, 
  • duck tongues, 
  • frogs

And here is a list of other delights, ones that I so far had no opportunity to taste:
  • cat,
  • quail, 
  • rat, 
  • mouse, 
  • turtle, 
  • horse,

In Cambodia (2007) and Vietnam I had the opportunity to taste fried tarantulas, and shark as well as snake meat.
